I love they went with Napalm Death of all band for their first (?) metal invite, they aren't particularly popular or trendy right now and clearly not a good introduction for non-metalhead...

I listen to some metal/metalcore and don't mind some more extreme bands, but I've never really gotten into Napalm Death. This video is very funny to me though because in some of the spaces I'm in, especially places where folks are really into deathcore, there's a lot of focus on "healthy" vocal technique. The vocalist in this band is doing everything wrong on a technical level and has probably been for decades at this point, and seems perfectly fine, lol.
Napalm Death has been around basically forever as far as metal is concerned. It's probably just a case of survivor bias as many people do end up suffering the consequences of intense vocals. In...
Napalm Death has been around basically forever as far as metal is concerned. It's probably just a case of survivor bias as many people do end up suffering the consequences of intense vocals. In some genres the singers can transition away from the harsh vocal style and it works out OK. I've can't say I've ever seen it happen with the more extreme metal bands though.
