Fantastic song from a fantastic album. Still maybe their best work, it's just so well rounded.
Fun fact: Opeth did a lot of concept albums, and Ghost Reveries was intially intended to be one as well, but the idea was dropped even though a bunch of songs were written using the concept. So it's sort of half a concept album. For a lot of bands, I think that could detract from the cohesion of the final product, but this record is so good it doesn't even matter.

This is one of my favorite Opeth songs of all time off of one of my favorite records of all time. They do an incredible job of capturing a dark atmosphere and technical songwriting without it feeling campy or overly show-off. I think they succeed where the majority of "progressive" metal/rock falls flat. Ghost of Perdition too is another favorite. The whole Ghost Reveries album is top-notch, as are plenty of their older records (Blackwater Park, etc).
So good. This and Blackwater Park are some of my favourite Opeth ballads.
