~music Listening Club 6 - Postcards
Week six it is! This week we focus on another user-voted record: Postcards by Meadowlark.
Pulling @Gyrfalcon's original nomination:
I'm going to suggest Postcards by Meadowlark again. I'm not great at describing why music is good, so I will just leave the music video of the title track.
Here's the place to discuss your thoughts on the record, your history with it or the band, and basically talk about whatever you want to that goes along with Postcards. Remember that this is intended to be a slow moving thing, feel free to take your time and listen / comment at any point in the week!
If you'd like to stream or buy the album, it can be found on most platforms here.
Just got around to listening to this, and I hate to be the negative Nancy especially on first reply, but I don't really like this much at all. I don't really have a think for most indie pop outside of a handful of albums that I like but don't really love, and this just sits with me as something you'd put on Spotify for background chill music or something. Not really my thing at all.
Funny enough, the reasons you don't like this album is exactly why I love it and suggested it. Indie pop is my main thing when it comes to music, though there's some other things I like. I guess the thing that I really like about Postcards is that I can put it on and escape for a while in the vocals and instruments, feeling what the songs are about instead of whatever I happen to be feeling.
I feel bad piling on more negativity, but I feel about the same. This came off as bland advertisement music to me and I had a hard time getting through it. I'm not the target audience, though, so I guess that's worth keeping in mind.
Still, thanks again to @Gyrfalcon for the nomination :)
