From the original The Blast article:

She claims that for some reason, Bey has started a campaign of harassment against her, that includes “Extreme witchcraft, Dark magic” and “Magic spells of sexual molestation.” She also claims the “Lemonade” star murdered her kitten.

Thompson believes Beyoncé has been taping [sic] her phones and controlling her finances.

Schizophrenia? Not trying to make light of the situation at all BTW... I have several close friends with scizophrenia and one in particular tends to make wild accusations like this whenever she is off her meds and having an episode. Although in her case it's always some nebulous "they" and "them" supposedly doing these nefarious and mystical things to her. And if indeed Ms. Thompson is suffering from the same affliction, I hope she receives the help she needs instead of just ridicule from tabloids. :(

What is the glue that binds that subreddit? There is an uncountable number of potential "conspiracies", many of which are mutually exclusive. For instance, the Queen of England owns and operates the Federal Reserve. Also, a collection of jewish bankers secretly control the Federal Reserve. A sufficiently creative conspiracy theorist can merge those two concepts by claiming that the Queen of England is jewish or that there is some overarching dark force that motivates both groups. I understand how one individual can be drawn to these things and make all sorts of weird delusional fan fictions based on their exposure to corporate news media and a lifetime of spurious ramblings from their alcoholic uncle. I don't see how this can build a community.

In one thread, we have a Satanist taking offence to the notion that Beyonce's secret habit of child sacrifice is called "satanic". We shouldn't jump to conclusions, we don't know whose name it is that she murmers under her breath while she prepares her offerings.

Coexisting with this is the assertion that the devil is manifest in several (conveniently black female) sports, music, and TV celebrities - including Beyonce herself. Can these both be true? Can Beyonce be a manifestation of Satan and also a Satanist? I suppose that makes technical sense but it seems a little redundant.

A little further down, there's a soliloquy about how some people have a tendency to perceive the world in a way that reflects their desires rather than how it actually is. In a less ironic context, this would be a tired observation of human nature. Here, it's been flipped on its head, "some people" becomes "most people" who seem to prefer self-consistent (but still by all accounts, equally bleak) world views. Whereas, the way the world "really is" as summarized by this subreddit is a grab-bag of contradictory metaphysical accounts, historically disjointed and bastardized propaganda.

Finally, the cherry on the top.

Well put. I keep coming back to that old saying when trying to Red Pill people.

"It's easier to fool someone than it is to convince them they have been fooled".

Easiest for them to fool themselves.
