I went down a Hurdy Gurdy rabbit hole about six months ago. Fascinating instrument. The song that stays with me to this day and I still listen to uses modern electronics, namely a loop pedal and some sort of distortion, to create what could be considered a pretty modern-sounding song, but with that obvious Hurdy Gurdy sound: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypuaJLHK_LQ

What fascinates me about the instrument is that it allows bending of keyed melody notes. Not many keyed acoustic instruments allow for that. It makes for some very interesting music.

He used to have quite a few videos online, with a lot of this looping technique and and other effects. Now he only has a small presence online, unfortunately. I stumbled on the hurdy gurdy back when this video was fresh, 2010, this song was always my favorite.
