YBN Cordae is going to be BIG. His debut album is definitely worth your time.
They really shouldn't cut the beat for anyone, I hate that shit. What makes this shit hard is having to take what you're gonna say and fitting it to the beat. If it's not off the top (which these are not), it's about your delivery, flow, and versatility. Cutting the beat is easy mode.
Anyway, the only people to really embarrass themselves were Lil Mosey and YK Osiris. Everyone else was at least decent, which is better than I can say for the last couple years. Rico Nasty was (unsurprisingly if you've heard Anger Management) the best by far, YBN Cordae and Megan Thee Stallion also impressed me.
I hope the next few years keep trending in this direction.
