I think that if you have enough resources at your disposal the US is a great place to live. However, the key is that you have your own personal support structure to fall back on. If something goes wrong and you end up down and out you're basically on your own compared to other countries. So for the most risk adverse among us, it makes sense to move to a place with a stronger social safety net.

This could be as simple as a new merch store or maybe we are getting a new album.

I agree with both of you. The music is catchy but unchallenging. But is that really a bad thing? He has the aesthetic and the sound to make it big. Is he going to revolutionize the music industry?...

Fike reportedly signed a 3-4 million dollar deal with Columbia Records without ever putting out an album. The buzz around him will continue to grow and he is going to be everywhere going into 2020. I think his career arc is going to be similar to the likes of Billie Eillish or Kahlid. Definitely someone to keep an eye on.

I also highly recommend Kevin Abstract's new album if you're into Hip-Hop at all. He has this song call Peach that features a future international superstar name Dominic Fike. Seriously, if you haven't heard of fike yet you should go listen to his EP. That kid is going to take over the pop/hip-hop/R&B blend that is currently all over the radio.

I also listened to the new Schoolboy Q album, it was ok. Not nearly as good as his previous work.

AUFC are an enigma right now. They have all the talent in the world and they created 22 shots, but they only found the back of the net on a pen. It was super frustrating to watch, and it's even more frustrating see all these fans calling for FdB's head. He can't make these dudes score.
That being said, the Dallas keeper stood on his head, he was having the game of his life. And shout out the Dallas's grade A shit-housing. It was a sight to behold. Hopefully we'll be able to find our way back into scoring form next week. We're sooooooo close to being good again.

I read Kitchen Confidential this week. It's a great read and highly entertaining. I also started Kafka on the Shore after reading Norwegian Wood earlier this year.

I hope they dump the touch pad on the dual-shock. I can't think of a game that uses it without it feeling like a gimmick and it drives the price of the controllers way up.

basically, yes. You could be invited by someone who was in the group, but the only way to guarantee to be in the know was to be in the group. It was pretty shitty.

When I graduated high school in 17 nobody I knew used facebook. So the only way that we organized parties, football game tailgates, or any other event that we decided to do was in a super iMessage GM where we hit the limit of participants allow. Which I think is important to note that it's less about the bubble color and more about the ability to be included in group messages.

I think your best entrance points are going to be shorter, fast-paced novels. Best on your description I think you'd LOVE Slaughter House 5 by Kurt Vonnegut. If you try that one out you could move onto Cat's Cradle by the same guy. These are short face past novel with sci-fi and alien elements, but the focus is on the human aspect of the story being told.

Have you ever listened to Conor Oberst? He seems to fit into a sort of indie-folk/americana vibe. He's also a great song writer.
