CHIvCOL - Ongoing but nice to see Djordie get his first goal and it looks like they may pull out a win in front of fans (as opposed to the stadium being empty like normal for being in BFE). Dax with a great pass for Chicago's second goal. I'm hoping they'll finish up with a win. Also nice to see Katai get his first goal of the season. I thought the use of VAR for the red card was a good call, dangerous tackle. Jesse's having a great game.
ATLvFCD - Missed the first 25 minutes of the ATLvFCD because I have ESPN+ and Sling Orange+Blue but ESPNews isn't included in either of those packages so I was able to find a stream. Super frustrating to try and do something legally and get screwed so I just cancelled my Roku and am moving over to YouTube TV. Anywho, I thought it was a great game, Pomykal did well and was pleased to see the Acosta goal.
Hopefully your Timbers don't get screwed by lack of VAR calls again u/maze.
We got a win! Finally!
The Timbers finally pulled off a win, vs a Caleb Porter squad nonetheless!
for like the eighth time in the past decade, colorado is out there playing like they want to just straight up lose their team (and awful stadium deal--building the stadium in an upscale denver suburb was in retrospect probably the worst idea of all time). honestly, if they weren't a founding club of the MLS i'm not convinced they would still be in denver considering how shit they've been since 2010 (outside of that one weird year in 2016 where they decided to be good) and considering how much of a cheap asshole stan kroenke is
I'm a Timbers fan, but live in Chicago.
Their in a similar boat here as well. Hopefully you can get out of that stadium deal eventually.
AUFC are an enigma right now. They have all the talent in the world and they created 22 shots, but they only found the back of the net on a pen. It was super frustrating to watch, and it's even more frustrating see all these fans calling for FdB's head. He can't make these dudes score.
That being said, the Dallas keeper stood on his head, he was having the game of his life. And shout out the Dallas's grade A shit-housing. It was a sight to behold. Hopefully we'll be able to find our way back into scoring form next week. We're sooooooo close to being good again.
This league is very interesting when it comes to the teams who were in The Cup the previous year. There's a long history of very poor starts for teams who are in a cup. I do enjoy that, but it sucks at the moment since I'm a Timbers fan.
