For those not in the know, Andy Rehfeldt is a magical man. He re-records metal song in different styles such as jazz, pop, bossa nova and vice versa. His work is a harkening back to the pre-clickbait era of the internet when it seemed like everything was weird, wonderful or both.

His rendition of Reign in Blood is one of my favorites by him but he has a substantial catalog of these songs. Check em out!

Try as I might, no one I have shown these to has jibed with them like I do. Hopefully these bring someone some joy.

Rehfeldt's covers are so much fun to listen to. I love these kinds of covers that really transform the original song. I also really enjoy mashups that warp the mashed-up tracks into something really new. Stuff like the excellent DJ Cummerbund's mashups. He often does similar genre-bending remixes, usually by mashing up heavy vocals with more poppy instrumentals (or vice-versa). I unironically enjoy BasketFlies and Freaktender because for some reason they just work. On the other hand, there are hilarious abominations like YYMilk which is a mashup of Rush's "YYZ" and "Milkshake" by Kelis.

There's also the amazing mashups by artists like Isosine and Neil Cicierega, and the guys over on r/mashups

Yep, that's what I was thinking of. You really have to play cleanly to get it to sound so clear with that tone.
