Norwegian Melodi Grand Prix 2020 - Grand Final - songs and results

Tonight ten songs competed to represent Norway in Eurovision.

Akuvi - Som Du Er

Didrik & Emil Solli Tangen - Out of Air

Kristin Husøy – Pray for Me

Liza Vassilieva – I Am Gay

Magnus Bokn - Over the Sea

Raylee - Wild

Rein Alexander - One Last Time

Sondrey - Take My Time

Tone Damli - Hurts Sometimes

Ulrikke - Attention

(I couldn't find tonight's performance for all of these, so some of them are from the semi-finals.)

The winner was Ulrikke with her song Attention, which will go on to represent Norway in Rotterdam. Did we make the right choice? Let's hear your opinions in the comments!

However, if Eurovision has taught me one thing, it's that I am clearly not the target demographic since my favorite songs consistently do pretty poorly every year, and the ones I dislike the most often wind up doing well... so maybe that means you did pick the right one after all. :P

I don't think any of these songs would have had a chance to win Eurovision, but Attention is probably good enough to qualify from the semi-finals.

Maybe the most strategic choice would have been I Am Gay. The last time we sent an artist born in the Soviet Union (Alexander Rybak) he won the whole thing.

      edit:

Wait, scratch that, I forgot that we also sent Rybak in 2018, and he only has a 50% success ratio. Still respectable.

Bilal Hassani's Roi had a similar message, but is so much better as a song, and was my favorite submission last year... but once again, my opinion seems to not matter when it comes to Eurovision since Roi did kinda terrible, placing 16th. :P

p.s. I was trying to remember where I recognized this band from that @ainar-g posted the other day... and speaking of Norway+Eurovision, it just hit me. Duh! KEiiNO - Spirit In The Sky - Grand Final - Eurovision 2019 :P

I've said it before and I'll say it again. KEiiNO is the perfect Eurovision band, and they won ESC 2019. Fuck the “professional” jury.
