I have found myself listening to the original release of Since I Left You by The Avalanches an unreasonable amount this week - it’s a phenomenal album, so I can’t really complain. I’ve also been going back to a lot of stuff I haven’t found myself in the mood to listen to for a while now: Funeral by Arcade Fire, various Arctic Monkeys releases, Shine On You Crazy Diamond by Pink Floyd, and a lot more.

Since I Left You is, at least for now, my favorite album of all time. One of my favorite things about the album is the amount of different ways I can appreciate it: if I want music to dance to, SILY. If I want background music while cleaning, SILY. If I want to get high, throw on headphones, and be swept away to another sonic universe, SILY. It's the perfect length and feels purely timeless because of how it's built on eclectic samples.

I've also been listening to the last Iglooghost, a highly-rated electronic album, but I didn't liked it that much.

I've been listening to this band Waxlimbs a lot lately, specifically their track Dead In The Water though their whole catalog is really good IMO. The list themselves as Electronica/Alien Alternative on twitter, which I guess is as good a description for their sound as any. I don't really know what I'd call it otherwise. Lots of just very good, trance-like music that I've just found myself gravitating towards listening to for all tasks: walking to the grocery store, during work, while playing games, watching the music video while high as hell. I wish I had better or more concrete reasons why I like their music so much but I haven't really figured it out yet.

Milan Dimic & Bora Dimic Dida - Najbolja Kola Brace Dimic

This isn't a style of music I know much about, but here's a little bit I learned: that's Milan Dimic on the left, I think that's his band, and he's playing with another accordionist. A "Kola" is a Serbian circle dance, or the music played along with it. This music is often played at weddings or other celebrations.

He's made some strange music videos. Here's one that is about his gypsy heritage I guess? I like this one where he seems to be playing in a bar with a bunch of other musicians.

There are videos of him playing at weddings too. Apparently the custom is to put money in the accordion bellows.

Honestly 90% of what I listen to lately is some form of hip-hop lofi.

Listening to a lot of chill beats like HM Surf and In Love With A Ghost. If I'm having trouble focusing I'll put on a playlist of music composed by an AI of some sort, because it helps me pay less...

If I'm having trouble focusing I'll put on a playlist of music composed by an AI of some sort, because it helps me pay less attention to my ears and more attention to my work.
