Plenty of journalists publish embarrassing stuff about governments every year. There's also all the other members of wikileaks who aren't Julian Assange who haven't been arrested.

I do wonder what's different about Assange?
At this point I'm almost certain he's a Russian pawn or asset, given Wikileaks' and Assange's actions around the time of the 2016 US election. See:
