    Valve has had so many security issues with Steam over the last couple of years (password reset bypass; publicly visible account details, ...) that I've become relatively careful with the information on my account and am sadly not too surprised that such an exploit could remain undetected by them for so long.

    At least they recently have put up official financial rewards for discovering security flaws and notifying them about those.

    Does anyone on Tildes have any insight into Valve internals?

    Steam is wildly popular and Valve makes tons of money. Why is the Steam experience so awful? If they just hired a handful of people to rethink the UI and UX it would go a long way. There are so many issues, both big and small, that seem to be completely ignored.
