RFK Jr. Is a Lesson for MAGA World: Be Careful What You Wish For | Opinion (Newsweek)
emphasis added. we're off to a rocky start here.
conflating sentiments about war and sentiments about vaccines like this is I think incredibly simplistic and reductionist.
when he refers to "pro" and "anti" war, I think what he's really talking about is not war in general, but support for Ukraine or Russia in Russia's invasion of Ukraine. there is a very disingenuous pro-Putin position that masquerades as "anti-war" - "we should end the war, and the quickest way to do that is for Ukraine to surrender to Russia and cede a bunch of territory".
and then he comes very close, over and over again, to actually understanding things:
RFK Jr. absolutely is not a Democrat. the author seems surprised that he's getting more traction on the right than he is from the left. I don't think this is surprising to anyone who understands RFK Jr's actual politics.
in our current electoral system, "legitimate third party option" is an oxymoron.
from his previous opinion pieces for Newsweek this guy appears to be a two-trick pony - either Hunter Biden, or RFK Jr.
First, this guy is a joke not taken seriously by anyone other than media headlines.
Second, no one progressive or left supports him like the media keeps insinuating. If anyone it would be libertarian leaning independents.
