    Barett is quite conservative, but here she diverges from several justices who oppose a formal code of ethics for the Supreme Court. Barrett claimed she still follows the ethics code that applied while she was an appellate court judge.

      Hardline conservative Jim Jordan told his fellow Republicans he will suspend his bid to serve as speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives and back Republican Patrick McHenry to fill the role on a temporary basis

      Seems like they'll just roll with McHenry as the temp Speaker to get things moving

      Jordan said he would not seek a third vote to win the post and instead will back a plan to empower McHenry to hold the post until January, according to several lawmakers.

          Third time's a charm. It is wild how non-functional this GOP majority is. I guess when obstructing government is literally your goal in the first place, you have no incentive at all to compromise.

    A Texas judge has ruled that Infowars host Alex Jones cannot use bankruptcy protection to avoid paying more than $1.1 billion to families who sued over his conspiracy theories that the Sandy Hook school massacre was a hoax.

    Jones filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last year and more recent financial documents submitted by his attorneys put his personal net worth around $14 million. But Lopez ruled that those protections do not apply over findings of “willful and malicious” conduct.
