Supreme Court Justice Barett declares support for written ethics code of conduct for justices
Barett is quite conservative, but here she diverges from several justices who oppose a formal code of ethics for the Supreme Court. Barrett claimed she still follows the ethics code that applied while she was an appellate court judge.
Jim Jordan loses his first Speaker vote. Can't say this was too surprising. I think if this drags out to more than 3 or so votes he will lose momentum and the GOP will be back at the drawing board. What an absolute shit show.
To follow up on this: Jordan suspends bid for US House speaker
Seems like they'll just roll with McHenry as the temp Speaker to get things moving
Yet another update: Republican Jim Jordan revives fight after pausing campaign for US House Speaker
The Interim Speaker plan has been abandoned and Jordan is back to saying he'll get the votes.
Third time's a charm.
It is wild how non-functional this GOP majority is. I guess when obstructing government is literally your goal in the first place, you have no incentive at all to compromise.
Former Trump attorney Sidney Powell has plead guilty in her Georgia election interference case one day before the trial was due to start. She got a very light slap on the wrist, so the thinking is she must have given up something juicy.
Jim Jordan appears to be losing his third vote for the speaker's gavel now. The vote is still in progress but seven Republicans have already voted against him, and he could only afford to lose five.

Decent article about how Christian Nationalism is struggling with unwanted publicity about its true revolutionary goals
The article also links articles about various aspects of the movement. I appreciated this deep dive into the churches, theologians, sponsored politicians and more.
