Fucking lol. I thought it wouldn't get crazier after they shotgunned a helicopter out of the sky with a drone boat, but it turns out it can.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen welcomed the ambassadors’ approval in a post on X, saying “This war has to end. We will keep the pressure high on the Kremlin.”

This being the 17th round of sanctions tells me that the pressure wasn't very high then. It continues to be low. Oh no, this company can't do business here anymore. Putin will spin up another intermediary. It's been 3.5 years and no meaningful effort to stop the shadow fleet from conducting business has occurred. Words aside, that the ships are so obviously still sailing and transacting for years mean that it's not high pressure. Come on, von der Leyen. The EU is a joke; this is a group that couldn't muster 25k troops to put in Ukraine after declaring themselves a Coalition of the Willing.

European countries are wary of deploying troops on Ukraine as part of a reassurance force without a US backstop

Exclusive: Iran to send Russia launchers for short-range missiles, sources say (Reuters)

WASHINGTON/LONDON May 9 (Reuters) - Iran is preparing to deliver in the near future launchers for short-range ballistic missiles that the U.S. said Tehran sent to Russia last year for use against Ukraine, according to two Western security officials and a regional official.

The delivery of the Fath-360 launchers - if it occurs - would help support Russia's grinding assault on its neighbor and reaffirm the deepening security ties between Moscow and Tehran.
