And maybe you aren't aware that BuzzFeed isn't all quizzes and listicles. They also have a branch devoted to real news: https://www.buzzfeednews.com/

Your sub idea is a good one, although I'm not sure the number of articles/conversation that would take place in ~news.journalism for the time being.
Oh, the sub-group isn't for now! It's for months and months and months down the track, when Tildes is much bigger and busier than now. For now, it's just a tag within a group. But the seeds we...

Much in the same way that a Breitbart article has such a slant on it that it's hardly worth the time digging through the nonsense to find the actual story.
Buzzfeed actually has a good investigative journalism department separate from the crap they're known for. It's just that real journalism doesn't pay the bills and Top 10 Lists and celebrity...

I note this is flagged 'journalism', but I'm not sure that's a reasonable description of anything that comes from Buzzfeed.

I just did a brief search for a chart I'd liked before, and found this one which is similar but I most agree with, with Buzzfeed News in the "Selective or incomplete story, Unfair persuasion" section, alongside the likes of Alternet, The Federalist and the New York Post.

If tabloids are journalism, why wouldn’t Buzzfeed? The shitty version of a thing is still the thing.
