If Trump has a second term, I'm not convinced there's even going to be a 2024 election.

I'm sorry, but delivering an inferior service (when they've had nearly a year to improve it) while at the same time holding games hostage so that customers have no choice of where to go is a reprehensible business model and I refuse to contribute to it. I want to play the game but I am willing to wait the year till it comes to Steam.

Turns out it's a step up in terms of pay and working from home, only. The actual work is a big step down. Boss just wants someone to transcribe her thoughts into code.

I'm a programmer/web dev. I'm going from a company associated with medical insurance to a financial company. I'll basically be their only programmer when I start. It'll be my job to get their outsourced code working properly. Going up a decent amount in pay, and with bonuses at specific milestones down the road. With a lot more opportunity to work from home.

Today is my last day at the old job and we all just got back from my going-away lunch at a bbq restaurant I like.

Basically, it's because Javascript is garbage.

In order to make it really usable, we need to layer all these frameworks and libraries on top of it. And everyone comes out with their own. And then we make more frameworks and libraries to layer on top of those.

And that doesn't even get into ES6 transpiling.

This is more an aspect of the legal system than the electoral system, but I'd like to see a declared list of functions that laws can serve. Such as protecting individual safety (while not overriding personal liberty), property protection, environmental protection, etc... And if a law can be shown to not be serving any of those functions, it can be ruled unenforceable (either in a specific case or in general). This prevents society from having to wait for bad laws to be repealed, especially if those laws are being held in place by money and politics.
