Oh no! The GOP is going to shut down a marketing channel that is heavily used by them, immediately prior to the election... Like... How do they figure this is an effective strategy?

This reads like something straight up from The Onion. I hope they keep on "boycotting" advertising channels.

The GOP has been a parody of itself for a while now.

It's not unlike Elizabeth Warren picking fights with investment banks. Sure their money would have been nice, but you can't buy the kind of street-cred and exposure she gets by tearing into them.

I'm guessing because Twitter told them it would be temporary, or has already capitulated as a result.

The account was temporarily locked because it“violated our violent threats policy, specifically threats involving physical safety,” a company spokesperson told the Courier Journal .

I have to say, I don't think Twitter cited the right content to block Team_Mitch's account here. I haven't looked through the tweets they've posted, but I don't think that blocking an account for basically calling out protestors calling for violence makes much sense. I have a feeling Team_Mitch has plenty of other blockable tweets, and it's rhetorically disadvantageous to block for this one.

        From the article.

McConnell’s campaign Twitter account, @Team_Mitch, was locked after it posted a video of protesters gathered in front of McConnell’s home, shouting profanities. One of the protesters reportedly shouted that McConnell should “have broken his little raggedy… neck.” The protest was reportedly in response to a photo, which featured young men wearing “Team Mitch” shirts, groping and choking a cutout of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.)
