Contributing factors included workers who were often elderly, working outdoors in very hot conditions, and "reports of traffic accidents by vehicles transporting the ballots." Another site says election officials worked for nearly 48 hours straight. What a terrible situation. That's too high a price to pay for the convenience of getting all your elections out of the way in one day.
