of note besides the red bloc winning: the right-wing nationalist (sometimes labelled far-right) DPP collapsed hard, losing 21 seats and falling to just 8% of the vote. part of this was other parties taking up some of their planks, but it's still a fairly large repudiation for them as a party, although a new right-wing/far-right party (new right) also gained representation.

that could honestly probably describe the immigration policy of either of the DPP, the New Right, or Hard Line (the other, other far-right party which wants this: The Hard Line seeks a ban on Islam, a complete stop to immigration from non-Western countries, and deportation of all Muslims and most other immigrant groups. Under their proposals, only native-born ethnic Danes and those "adopted as infants" would be allowed in the country, with specific exceptions for visiting tourists, foreign diplomats, and qualified foreign spouses "with a background in the Western European culture."[19] Ethnic and national homogeneity are to be secured through a large-scale deportation program described in party materials.)

When he told me what it translated to (he linked me the danish homepage) I honestly thought he was joking.. It's far too on-the-nose given his history and his platform. But I suppose today things are in such disarray that they don't mind being more dogwhistle-y

Do we have any Danes here? I'd love a Danish national's take on the migration policy shift of the labour party.
