This is heart breaking
@leahmcelrath:
If you watch nothing else about the mass shooting at #SantaFe High School in Texas, watch this. Her name is reportedly Paige. #SantaFeHighSchool https://t.co/Xwy5VMCOTK
I think the title should contain information about the content. As a general rule, I don't want to have my heart broken, so I didn't click the link.
Agreed... Once action changelog/auditing is in place I would have changed the title of this to something like "Interview with student at recent Texas school shooting."
I feel like changing the title of a post should be more difficult than changing a comment though.
Yeah, editing titles will potentially be relegated to a higher tier of trust that simple tag edits eventually... but until we have trust system in place we will likely just open it up to everyone and monitor the changelog (once that's in place) looking for people abusing it.
Also, keep in mind that ~ being invite-only allows us to easily remove bad-faith users and ensure they won't be able to get back in unless they go out of their way to deceive us with another invite request. If they sneak back in and act in bad-faith again we remove them again. But if they start behaving themselves... mission accomplished!
By default trusting our users with the simple editing tools we can also more quickly identify which ones are bad-faith too, which is nice.
Heart breaking indeed but honestly, what the hell is that girl being interviewed for so soon after witnessing that? She needs a grief councillor not some disgusting, predatory journalist sticking a mic into her face!
Oh I agree, it's insane they just throw a mic in front of these poor kids right after an event like this.
No, man. She needs a gun. Armed grieving is polite grieving. /s
I like to imagine that if I were a journalist I would not be able to put a mic in a teenager's face right after a shooting.
It is really heartbreaking that a person could put her through an interview after all that.
