For those who don't know what The Brain Scoop was, or who Emily Graslie is:
Over 10 years ago, after Emily was featured in one of Hank Green's Vlogbrothers videos, filmed at the zoological museum where she worked as a specimen prepper, curator, and science educator, she was hired by Chicago's Field Museum to become their "Chief Curiosity Correspondent" and start producing videos for them under The Brain Scoop channel. The videos covered a bunch of biology, zoology, paleontology, natural history, and museum related topics.
Unfortunately, a little over 3 years ago Emily stopped working at the Field Museum, and she stopped producing videos for the channel since it was still owned and controlled by the Museum. So the channel has just sat there totally unused ever since... But thankfully she has finally now managed to purchase the rights for the channel, so she's relaunching it!
Her channel was always a favorite of mine, since it was one of the only places on YouTube where you could see videos on museum specimen prepping/preservation, animal dissections, and taxidermy, which is her particular area of expertise. And so I have actually kept the notifications for the channel enabled after all these years, despite the channel being inactive, just in case something like this relaunch ever happened.
So imagine my surprise and excitement at seeing the notification for this video today! Which is why I'm sharing this here for anyone else on Tildes that might be similarly interested in that sort of content too, and also to hopefully help the relaunch be a successful one. :)
Oh I didn't realize that she stopped working at the museum and that's why the channel ended, I assumed she was working on bigger projects within the museum unrelated to channel. Glad to hear she's...

I very much enjoyed the early years of the brain scoop, I actually started to lose interest the more it became 'produced' in the Chicago years. Looking forward to see what new direction she'll rake..
I knew she had resigned from the museum since she talked about it on her own channel: Why I left The Brain Scoop I was hoping she would essentially move The Brain Scoop to that channel, but sadly...

I was hoping she would essentially move The Brain Scoop to that channel, but sadly she didn't do much with it.

p.s. She did show up in a popular video on /r/WatchPeopleDieInside earlier this year though. When I first saw it I was like, "wait, is that Emily Graslie!?" and sure enough, it was. :P
