Okay, this was cool. I knew about Pangea, and I knew it wasn't the first one. But I thought there was more..... drifting. Like, Pangea goes back something like a tenth of the length the earth has been around, and from this, it looks like there were 2-3 other such combinations with some drifting between each one. I thought it was like 5-10 times as much, if that makes sense.

It's also wild to see life on that scale. Nevermind humans, but even mammals are tiny tiny, and even animals at all are short. Again, something I knew to some degree, but it was emphasized to a greater degree here. As well as how far back life itself goes before we got animals of any kind.

    Just wild stuff.

The video title is "Mapping Earth, 1 billion years ago," whereas the post title is "One billion-year-old Earth, mapped." That's a couple billion year difference.

That was the original title of the video. Then it was "How to map ancient earth." And now it's what you said. Dunno why they have changed it several times! But they do in fact attempt to map 1...

A lot of YouTubers do that, often to try to maximize views. They use one title, watch the analytics, modify it, watch the analytics, repeat until they find one that seems to get the best (or at least better) results. Sometimes that means gradually getting more clickbait, but most times for decent quality channels, like this seems to be, it might just mean making slight changes that for whatever reason draw more viewers in.

A lot of news org websites do that shit too, BTW. But they often even take it a step further and do proper A/B testing using multiple titles before figuring out which gets them the maximum views, and then they show that title to everyone afterwards. I've even noticed a few news orgs that seem to regularly use far more clickbait titles initially, and then tone them down a few hours later, likely after the initial wave of views dies down. :/
