This is just an absolutely wild amount of confusion being announced by the current administration.
And it’s maybe the third (fourth? I’m losing count) most absurd thing today.
One possible explanation is that they're not very good at what they do: https://bsky.app/profile/bretdevereaux.bsky.social/post/3lgvvktpb622s
I think maybe they actually are good at what they do. And that is to sow chaos with bold distracting moves, and take advantage of the fact that the US government depends on actors who are mostly honorable.
The project 2025 people have been planning this mess for years. If you assume that they don't have good intentions then it makes more sense.
Basically, they want to destroy the government of the United States.
There are probably a few different types of people involved in this
What these people discovered in Trump's first term is that you can do basically anything you want in government if you are bold enough. Sure, a few of them went to jail for a while, but others kept hammering away and they ended up pardoned or otherwise released.
We are in this spot because too many American voters are just complete dumbasses susceptible to propaganda or just neglect their civic duty, which at a minimum is to keep crooks and traitors away from nuclear buttons. Also because the DOJ did nothing about insurrection and sedition for two whole years when they should have been arresting Trump and several prominent Republican congress people for sedition and possibly treason.
As an aside, most of the people here probably think that Trump is a dumbass because he does random chaotic things. I think he does these things not because he's dumb. It's because he never had proper consequences in his life for doing bad things. Every time he does something bad or says something bad he is actually rewarded for it. Who can question his judgement after all? He was elected president twice. This has a lot to do with the weakness and corruption of a lot of other people besides him.
Another aside: Think about how fucking stupid and misinformed you have to be to see all of the crooks and assholes that surround Trump and think you want to give anyone like that power over anything. I will never stop being astounded by the stupidity of people who voted for Trump.
This is an article from today that talks about how they know exactly what they are doing:

Trump and his government were taught that there are no consequences for breaking the law and doing whatever they want. It's like a smash and grab at a store where they never call the police while you are hauling out everything you can carry.
