The US is a democracy, and one party won't be in power forever (thermostatic backlash). When a new party wins elections, they are responsible and should be blamed for any policies or laws they create or enact.
I disagree. Obama's "they go low, we go high" stance gave him the overall moral victory, but also handed over another Supreme Court seat. RBG should have retired on Obama's watch, when Dems...

RBG should have retired on Obama's watch, when Dems briefly held the senate, as everyone was telling her to do.
And due to the disparity in populations (and other more shady tactics), the House and Senate have leaned Republican my entire life. The times Democrats have held Congress and executive (and never a stranglehold on the court) have been miniscule in the last 40.
And they squander their opportunity by not having large swaths of legislation ready to go, so they can swiftly fix things...the way Republicans break things. They could have undone the Bush tax breaks, they didn't. They could have undone Trump's terrible tax reform, they didn't. They could have upped minimum wage in 2020.
They should have recognized that in 2008 Hillary Clinton had no popular support and the party shouldn't have tried to annoint her in 2016.
People can make excuses for them (ie big disjointed tent and all), but the reality is that they should have gotten their act together.
You know how they were confirming federal justices at a record pace after Trump won in 2024? That should be their pace all the time.
I'm all for holding the Democrats accountable for the many many missteps they've made in fighting back against this wave of regressive conservatism, but at the end of the day, we also need to...
I'm all for holding the Democrats accountable for the many many missteps they've made in fighting back against this wave of regressive conservatism, but at the end of the day, we also need to clearly state that Republicans are at fault. If the Democrats had done this or that, sure, maybe we wouldn't be here. But Republicans are in charge and Republicans are doing the damage. Blame the Republicans for their actions.
Oh that's fair. I have sympathy for the swindled populace but not so much the politicians that swindle them, the media empire that brainwashes them, and the religions that influence both.

No worries. I'm always floating around. 🙂
Completely off-topic noise, but I've always been curious, how is "mycketforvirrad" pronounced?
In Swedish it is two words, "mycket förvirrad" meaning very confused. My awful accent would have it sound out as "micket fur vir raad".
Done!
I'm tired, boss.
