Syria allowing Turkey to use an airbase in Syria. That's an interesting twist. I'd like to know more about what they're up to.
Israel bombing an airbase in Syria apparently because it's to be used by Turkey. That's kinda insane, right? Is Israel aware that Turkey is a NATO country?
The US condemning Israel. OK, that's pretty rare I guess, but is it really the biggest piece of news here?
I suppose they have little choice? Reuters titles this as "Israeli airstrikes hit Syrian airbase, drawing Turkish condemnation". Marginally better but not by much. Turkish deployment to that...

Turkish deployment to that airbase is unconfirmed and Israel claims they flung missiles because of a violation in a security agreement. Not much to go on other than what the US and Turkey are saying. If Israel does indeed strike NATO allies it'll be a geopolitical suicide by cop moment.
Israel can be manhandled by a NATO sans the US. I'd probably bet on Turkey blapping Israel without any help too. They're the second largest NATO army, trailing just behind the US. There's a risk...

There's a risk indeed but NATO is pretty beefy without the US. Especially with the latest rearmament budgets hitting we see a much stronger European NATO branch.
If the US government really condemned anything Israel was doing all they would have to do is stop funding them to the tune of billions of dollars of cash and weapons, but they don't, so they don't.

Or the thing that breaks NATO. Do you see the US respecting article 5 if invoked because of Israel’s actions?

But who knows?
