Space exploration offers a unique opportunity for humankind to put its best foot forward. We saw it with the ISS and with the Voyager record.
I think the Olympics is similar in that it's the one time where humans (usually) set aside their differences to come together and take part in something greater than themselves. It would be fitting for the Olympics to be the first event held on the moon.
