Mets fan here. Every word of this piece is true. Gary, Keith and Ron (GKR) are the most entertaining booth in baseball. They are magical. I'm predisposed to like them because I loved Ron and Keith as players, but younger fans who never saw them play all feel the same way. They are awesome. Their analysis is spot on and illuminating, and their ability to keep us interested in a 10-run blowout is a gift. Gary will surely end up in the broadcasters wing of the hall of fame someday.
My only problem with the article is that it never mentions the Mets radio team, which is as good as (or even better than) the TV booth. Howie Rose (another Hall of Fame level announcer) and Josh Lewin are freakin' hilarious. As Mets fans we are often condemned to also-ran status by the middle of summer, but we are truly blessed with some of the best announcers in sports.
