Full physicals, including MRIs, are pretty standard requirements these days for most athletics and gaming commissions license renewals for fighters, AFAIK. IIRC in Nevada it’s mandatory every 5 years, but here in Canada it’s once a year.
I remember the UFC and a ton of fighters bitching about that when UFC 140 came up here, but then it saved an American fighter’s life when it was discovered he had an undiagnosed brain hemorrhage. So the bitching stopped after that, and everyone was suddenly praising it.
Who knew that UFC fighters had a mandatory MRI? Also, lucky for him that he got this rare condition diagnosed.
