I've watched Spurs for most of my life, but the Premier League allowing Roman, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE to own clubs has really soured my taste for the league entirely. It's going to be exceptionally difficult to impossible for clubs like Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs, and possibly United/Chelsea and literally everyone else to compete against clubs like City and likely now Newcastle, who are able to circumnavigate Financial Fair Play entirely through the use of fake sponsorships, paying managers and players through intermediaries, and receive massive direct funding from Nation States. The Premier League looked the other way with Roman (until they didn't) and opened the door for the UAE and Saudi Arabia to do whatever they want within the league. It's hard to support a club within a league that allows clubs to play by two entirely different sets of rules.

Edit: I don't know what the solution is, but I do know that I feel myself being pulled away from supporting Spurs because I don't know how I can continue to justify supporting a team within a league that is a tool for rampant sports washing. Having said that, I'm not at a place yet where I'm ready to give up something that I've enjoyed most of my life - especially because I don't really have another club that I am excited about supporting because I don't have any connections to other clubs.

I’m with you completely on everything you said (United fan). It really feels like the sport is slipping away with the likes of City and Newcastle. The fact that it used to be known as the working man’s sport is a cruel joke when you look at the state of it today.

I especially am struggling to care? Like City just won the treble, but they’re such a hollow, soulless club that it honestly feels fake, and there is no merit to it in my opinion. When Liverpool won (both prem & CL) I was genuinely so annoyed that I stayed away from all football for weeks, but it was hard not to have massive respect for them, which made it so much worse.

Sorry, I rambled a bit there just to say: I feel I’m in limbo with you.
