No I'm actually completely the same, I find it detracts from the relaxed, background vibe that lofi is for me. I was listening to someone earlier, Eevee, who had some really great sounding stuff, until people started talking midway through :/

City girl is usually pretty solid in this regard (from the stuff i've listened to recently), in my experience it tends to be that if it is just her listed on the song, it will be no vocals but with other people there will be some singing.

My issue tends to be that I’m overly paranoid about all this stuff, so I haven’t automated anything at all - all my downloads are even done on a different computer and I manually move them over 😅 someone else mentioned about split tunnelling so that I can use my main PC without affecting Plex/Steam, so I’m going to look into all that

Sorry for the late reply! Still getting used to not checking Reddit haha. In answer to your question, I would say it is - all very chilled “background” music, if that makes sense :)

I have been debating using Sonarr and Radarr, but I thought they were solely for media acquisition - are they generally useful addons for Plex in general, then?

Thank you so much for your response! So as it turned out, the issue was that I had a lot of films (~2000), and didn't want to go through them all manually (and the same for TV shows etc.) - I definitely knew some were not named correctly, but I just wasn't sure which.

I was using a tool called WebTools-NG which was doing its job perfectly, but my setup was flawed - I had all my files in the root of my drives (some drives are just for films, others for TV) so it made sense to do it this way - but a really helpful user on GitHub pointed out this is bad practice (I had no idea), and as such creating a folder at root and moving all files into that solved the issue, and allowed the tool to scan properly.

I agree re confidence, Ten Hag has been great so far, although I do have concerns that we dropped off quite a bit towards the end of the season. I'm putting it down to a mixture of fatigue & injury issues, and I'm hoping with some reinforcements and a summer off for the players we'll be able to come back a lot stronger. Frankly, two cup finals (one where we lost to the best team in Europe) and third is a pretty good return for a first season in the league, + dealing with the Ronaldo drama.

I think Chelsea will start very strong but drop off drastically - could not tell you why I think this though.

Oh this is really interesting. I love hearing about how people discover music, and that was a really cool story. It must have been quite exciting back then, when it wasn't a matter of just jumping onto Spotify and getting immediate reccomendations, and instead discovering it in really organic ways such as you described. There's a certain romanticism to it, in my opinion.

While looking for the music online, I did find the documentary itself, is it worth watching do you know?

I think that's a really realistic set of goals for Liverpool tbh. I'm glad they're giving Klopp more time, he's definitely earned it, but with clubs being so trigger happy at times you never know. It seems to be one of the few things that unite Liverpool, Arsenal and Utd, I don't think Arteta or Ole would have survived for as long at any other club in England, and Liverpool were very pateint with Klopp.

What is the consensus among the Liverpool fanbase about last season, out of interest?

I also love instrumental music! It's so great to work and generally relax to.

Here are some of my favourties:

    Abzu by Austin Wintory

This is a soundtrack from a great indie game, which sets you exploring this underwater world, and the soundtrack captures the feeling excellently.

    Balsams by Chuck Johnson

Very ethereal I would say, but a fantasic album and very relaxing.

    Loveless Shadows by City Girl

This is a bit more lo-fi, so I don't quite know if this is the sort of thing you will be looking for - but I think it's excellent!

Man of Steel Sketchbook by Hans Zimmer

Unsure if you're interested in movie soundtracks, but this is one of my absolute favourite pieces of music! It starts out very slowly and builds up to this crescendo, using all the main msuical motifs from the soundtrack.

The Universe Smiles Upon You by Khruangbin

These are quite a famous band, so you may have heard of them - a bit more upbeat and fast compared to Balsams, but equally as good - perfect for summer days, in my opinion.

    Stellaris by Andreas Waldetoft

Another game soundtrack, but this one takes place in space - there's a couple 'war' songs in there, which aren't that peaceful obviously haha, but some truly great songs are in there - my personal favourite is Faster Than Light.

    Interstellar by Hans Zimmer

I'm almost certain you will have heard of this one, but if not: it's one of my all time favourite films, and the soundtrack is my favourite of all time! Stay is increedible and quite moving I would say, but Murph is my absolute favourite.

I'm going to stop myself there before I get carried away, but let me know what you think, or if you like any of them :)

How’re people feeling about next season? Will Arsenal be able to threaten as much? Or will it be more City dominance? How will Utd look under Ten Hag? Will we start seeing more from Newcastle?

I’m with you completely on everything you said (United fan). It really feels like the sport is slipping away with the likes of City and Newcastle. The fact that it used to be known as the working man’s sport is a cruel joke when you look at the state of it today.

I especially am struggling to care? Like City just won the treble, but they’re such a hollow, soulless club that it honestly feels fake, and there is no merit to it in my opinion. When Liverpool won (both prem & CL) I was genuinely so annoyed that I stayed away from all football for weeks, but it was hard not to have massive respect for them, which made it so much worse.

Sorry, I rambled a bit there just to say: I feel I’m in limbo with you.
