Exciting! I never really got into watching football, but I am a giant trivia nerd. I remember deciding a handful of years to learn more about the history of professional English league football and its teams. I remember learning that there was a “minor league team” (to use an Americanism) that was at one point champions of Europe for two back to back years in 1979 and 1980. I thought that was amazing and how amazing of a story it would be if they ever made it back to the top level. I continued to not really pay any attention to football, until May 29, 2022, when I went to a hookah bar with a friend. They happened to have a football game on TV. To my surprise, it was Nottingham Forest competing for a spot in the Premier League after a strong season in the second tier. And then they won! It was pretty magical, at least for me, and I’ve been following them ever since.
