How are things looking for the World Cup this year?

Why yes, I am American, and yes, I do care about soccer once every four years. But I do want to give this an honest go, so: what’s got you amped up about the World Cup this year?

Honestly, I'm still crushed the US didn't qualify. Every time I think about the World Cup, my first emotion is disappointment. With that said, I'm somewhat following Mexico's path. I'm curious if they'll make it out of their group, and I think the first matchup against Germany will be fun. I'm looking for another team to follow. My secondary team (The Netherlands) also failed to qualify, so it's rough for me.

    Egypt.

I'm a new-ish Liverpool fan and Mo Salah was a revelation in the EPL for the club. He seems to have been the catalyst for the Egyptian team getting in to the World Cup and I'm hyped to see him play.

(assuming he's fully healed from the cheap shot injury he suffered at the hands of The Cowardly Sergio Ramos in the Champions League final a few weeks ago)
