I think the biggest thing about these deals is hockey is going to consistently be on ESPN, which has the potential to explode the US hockey market. All my sports-fan family members have ESPN on in the background all day, or if they don't know what they want to watch they default to checking all the ESPNs. With some TNT/ESPN-esc hockey talk shows, the sport could see a huge growth in US interest. I mean, they have to execute on that plan and execute it well, but I see a lot more potential growth options on ESPN than I did with NBC. This doesn't really change anything about how I will be viewing hockey games, but maybe we'll get some better content around the sport. I can think of very few hockey shows that are high quality, and just about all of them are on youtube.
