What did you do this week?

As part of a weekly series, these topics are a place for users to casually discuss the things they did — or didn't do — during their week. Did you accomplish any goals? Suffer a failure? Do nothing at all? Tell us about it!

I installed NixOS on my desktop next to Arch on my btrfs filesystem. It's been a blast to learn a radically new way of doing things. The only thing I'm missing is a declarative way to manage my home environment, but I'm looking into a solution for that (Home Manager). I'm planning on setting my laptops and raspberry pi up with NixOS+jwm, but my desktop is currently running KDE because duplicating my Arch setup was my first goal, and I want to test moving it to my laptops. I also spent two hours trying to get the r8168 driver insrtalled properly, because the documentation is fairly weak. I've been reading a lot of source code to figure out what I couldn't find examples for, and the package conventions are starting to make sense.

I went to school online for one of the last times this semester, after a buffer period to ensure people got their COVID boosters. One of my classes will be online a few more times, and I'll have to figure out how to swing it on campus before my 7PM class. I'm happy to be riding my bike to school and not be attending class at home on Monday.
