The funny thing is, my dog actually fell off a dang cliff (2 storeys or so) and she's doing just fine. I just slipped and fell maybe 3 feet and I'm the one with a debilitating injury, lol.

Easier to land if you have four feet! Is your dog an ACD (Australian Cattle Dog) by chance? I had wondered about your username being a reference to that. :)

I'm relatively sure the CD (and perhaps CDW) stand for their name which is on their website, same as the username just with .net tagged on the end.

Saturday, I ran errands, bought far too many pastries to compare a new French bakery in town with an older well established one, and assembled my wife's xmas present under her other xmas present.

I've mentioned here that I had a new workshop/garage built at my home, part of it was an extra storage area outside the main garage where I'll put my air compressor and store things I don't want taking up space in the garage and next to it is a shaded area that was an xmas gift to my wife to be her hammock oasis. Eventually it'll have a wooden deck, outdoor fan, light, outlet for device charging, and an outdoor storage ottoman for things like a blanket and citronella candles, but it'll take some time to get everything done and I didn't want her to miss the few nice spring weekends of weather we get in my part of Texas before it becomes boilingly hot out.

Her other/hammock gift was a ENO SoloPod XL hammock stand and accompanying SuperNest hammock. While assembly is possible with one person, I don't recommend it and it would have gone more smoothly/faster if I hadn't planned on doing this specifically while my wife was at work so she could come home to hammock-ry. The stand is thick wall steel, nearly 15' long, and over 100lbs of awkward-to-handle weight fully assembled, so an extra pair of hands would have been... well, handy. Gave it a test after assembly and it is quite comfy.

Sunday, was tree trimming to get branches off the roof of the house and off my car (grow up tree, not down) and then a trip to Summit Racing for my parts order and check out their new clearance section! If there's anything I like more than car parts, it's car parts at a deep discount. Sadly, nothing on this trip tickled my fancy, but the trip last month was successful as I picked up a dual master cylinder and a brand new racing helmet for 40% of retail. The guys were with me then and picked up a MicroSquirt ECU and a full set of gauges for the 49 Chevy project, respectively. After our grocery shopping trip my wife grabbed her various electronic entertainment devices and made a bee-line to the hammock while I worked in the garage on the Tercel. She got an extended midday hammock nap (I think she likes her gifts) in while I loosened or removed all of the rusty rear suspension bolts to prepare for the lift and I coated the new fuel tank in a rust preventative chassis paint meant for commercial trucks. I'll apply another coat and then the contact pads so it doesn't rub against the body and install it once I have the rust sealant and paint on the bottom of the Tercel.

I hosted my first meet up Saturday evening (for a bike camping group), then joined a birthday party that ended in watching the UNC-Duke game. I live in the triangle (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill), so the hype around me was pretty intense! I don’t know much about basketball, but the game was really entertaining.
