This topic is part of a weekly series. It is meant to be a place for users to discuss their week.

If you have any plans, goals, accomplishments, or even failures, whether they be personal or work related, I'd love to hear about them. This is a place for casual discussion about your week, past, present, and future.

A list of all previous topics in this series can be found here.

So, what (or how) are you doing this week?

As such, I'm currently lying in bed with a throat that feels like it's actively on fire. Swallowing feels like I'm taking sandpaper to my esophagus. It's going to be a long week.

    Halloween stuff! :D

On Tuesday, I'm going to be running a one-shot adventure for one of my RPG groups. Going with a candy theme, we're going to play Blood in the Chocolate, which is part Willy Wonka, part heist movie, part body horror. It's designed for Lamentations of the Flame Princess (or any old-school RPG similar to Basic D&D), but I'm going to use Blades in the Dark, per an idea from the podcast Fear of a Black Dragon. It's built for criminal exploits!

And on Halloween proper I'm attending a movie night, nice and simple. If anyone has suggestions for movies to consider, I'd love to hear them. :)

Three years after giving my gaming PC away, I am getting back in. Very soon, I am going to purchase a brand new tower. It feels exciting, I will finally be able to edit videos and play games. In the past, I have relied on my thinkpad laptop for work, and my switch for gaming. The former was nice enough for programming but the latter kept me from playing resource intensive titles and games using a mouse as preferred input. I won't lie, shit's expensive, but I'm making an investment for a few years hopefully. I'm also taking advantage of my first pay haha.

I have sadly also fallen back into a mild depression. Having to face two deaths this year, I think it took me getting out of university and finally having some headspace to process things for it to hit me. Having already succeeded to get better, I roughly know what methods to follow. I forgot how much fighting against yourself is a part of the process. I know what to do, I don't want to do any of it is the problem. You find yourself wallowing in your own sadness and being comfortable. I hope to post good news in a later thread.

Work and gym today, then work on Tues, Wed, and Friday. Thursday I fly to a learning conference thing for work, and fly back the same day, so I am going to try and get Friday off because of that. My friend's band is having their last show Thursday night and I want to go after I get back to the city, so we'll see.

Otherwise I'll be doing some more prep work for Timasomo, I have a physio appointment tomorrow to check my progress which I think I'm doing better? Then a hot shave on Wednesday (a lady takes a straight razor to my face lol), then pick up my partner from the airport as she gets back from her trip then. So then just relaxing when I'm not doing anything else mentioned lol

I wouldn't beat myself up too much if I didn't. It's an ambitious goal, difficult to achieve even without perpetual self-editing.

I doubt I'll meet the 1,667 daily word goal for Friday - Monday

Still lots of work to be done on Intergrid, the online outliner. It's an exciting process, especially since I get to learn a lot of new things and upgrade my front-end skills – nevermind the fact that I'm working to complete something of value to others, a first in my life. Most of what I've done so far was make something I find enjoyable or cool; working on Intergrid is this still, but it may also be useful to someone else.

I think I'm also going to elaborate on the internal design of the Frontiers RPG system. Perhaps find a name for it, so as to not speak of it as if it's permanently attached to the story that spawned it. I need to flesh out the general ideas behind combat, world interactions (obstacles, challenges, and how to overcome them), and character management – admittedly a wide array of items to consider. Right now, the goal is to settle on a plain version of the involved systems, to be able to post the first draft for Timasomo.

It just happens that all of the goals so far – Intergrid, the RPG system, the personal website – converge as having to be some level of complete by Dec 1, which is my legal birthday that I no longer celebrate.
