One of my professors asked if I would be interested in working on a project for course credit and/or payment (stipend+tuition). The only catch would be that it would count as the max hours students can work, so I would have to retire from my current on-campus positions.

It's hard to decide what to do. It's a good opportunity, but it's hard to leave my other positions.

My first diy keyboard, the Preonic, is together, and in-use. I thought I'd have issues with the grid layout, but I'm adapting just fine. I had to be ready to bail out to my normal one just in case I can't type that fast, since I've got my SQL final on Saturday (at 7AM, fml), but I'm back up to ~90WPM on this keyboard. I also decided to only build two keyboards, a YD60 with Mill Max sockets, which I'm going to tweak with OLKB-style layers, and my Preonic. I want to be able to switch between them to make sure I can still pretty much type on any keyboard with no problem, since all my laptops, and school computers, have conventional keyboards.

Related, since I'm moving away from keyboards with caps/num/scroll lock indicators, but still have use cases for them (linux terminal, Renoise), I wrote a little systray app with PyQt to track the states of these. It's unfortunately tied to Windows ATM using win32api and win32con, but plan to do a Linux port after my finals, and maybe make some better icons.

This is all around studying for my SQL final. My philosophy final is a 6-8 page brief which I can knock out fairly easily and have outlined, but my SQL class requires me to know many points of information, and is more important to me because of the dreaded multiple choice section.

I’m still reading lots of short stories in preparation to write my own book. Obsessing about how my process should be, what I have to do to ensure I fulfill the contractual obligations. Lots of notes, lists, etc.

I’ll probably get an Airbnb apartment for a month to help me start off, it’s so hard to concentrate in an apartment full of people. I also must resume physical activity, so I looked into buying some weights and such. Cardio is super boring, but weightlifting is... tolerable.
