Our fig tree is producing so many figs. I would love any ideas on what to do with them! Not a fan of eating them raw, but maybe I just need to pair them with something else (goat cheese?).

Maybe make some homemade fig jam with them? They will keep longer that way, and you can also give extra jars away as gifts. We always have a jar of fig jam on hand at our house for when we do cheese boards, since it pairs amazingly well with all sorts of different cheeses and crackers. But it also goes great on toast, scones and English muffins too. Speaking of which, you can also use the jam or sliced figs in a lot of baking as well, e.g. in tarts.

And even though you said you're not a fan of eating them raw, IMO you should give them a try raw in an arugula (or spinach) & goat cheese/feta salad, with balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Fresh fig & watermelon salad with a drizzle of balsamic is lovely too, especially in the summer. But if even in those dishes you find their raw form is still not to your taste, you can always roast them first to soften/caramelize them. 🤤

      I ❤️ figs. :P

I wish I had the time/patience for preserving them. I do think I might try oven drying them, since that requires very little prep work.

The jam won't keep as long as a water bath or properly pressure canned version, but it'll at least let you give fig jam a taste, and decide whether you like it enough to scale up and use a more serious preservation method.
