Long time telegram user here and I don’t see any issues with this. They aren’t taking usernames off real accounts to sell, they just took them from inactive channels set up to hoard names for resale later.
Resale of usernames is a big thing on almost all platforms but it’s typically super risky and scam filled since it requires someone to take on all the risk that the other side will do their part. There is absolutely no reason this needs to be on a block chain vs just being a feature inside telegram, but as someone who uses the app, this doesn’t affect me in any way if I just don’t participate.
