    The information affected by the oversight includes everything from patient names, phone numbers, email addresses, birth dates, IP addresses, insurance information, appointment dates, treatment, and more.

    3,179,835 people, even if we say only 25% had PHI leaked and HHS only fines them $10k per head, that's still $7,949,587,500 ($8Billion for those having trouble with all the commas) I'm guessing they don't have in their couch cushions.

    Healthcare is already rife with shitheads, bad medicine, and evil people, maybe a tech company selling user data with abandon and slinging Xanax to anyone with an email address shouldn't exist.

      I really, really, really hope the US government pursues a hefty HIPAA fine against them, because if they don't there's going to be a lot of other companies which treat this with the same blasé and...
