Windows Secure Time Seeding sometimes resets clocks months or years off the correct time

    At this point it really feels that Microsoft is banking on their OS being entrenched in businesses' infrastructure to extract profits, and couldn't give two shits about R&D and QA. What's more egregious is that this issue has been present since 2016, with no resolution.

    I have experienced annoying issues with Windows and resetting time incorrectly, come to think of it. It notably happens when I switch back and forth between Ubuntu and Windows, but I believe that has nothing to do with the issue the article is referring to (as I understand, the OSes just maintain the time differently.)

    Very interesting to learn about the origin behind this particular issue. I've always found this kind of stuff strangely fascinating. Thanks for sharing this!

        I think there might be - at least, I remember looking this up previously, and did see a fix. I just wasn't bothered to fix it, as it's only a minor inconvenience for me. :) (read: laziness). maybe...

Personally, I'm a little hesitant to mess with time and date settings, for worries it will screw something else up that I'm not anticipating.

        EDIT2: Not sure if you will need to set BIOS time as well. Again, I was just too weary to want to mess with it, and just deal with the little hassle. But I get paranoid like that..
