You would think something like would have been implemented in Android Eclair (2.0) 13 years ago, given the ubiquity of the situation.
Edit: I enjoyed this article a bit more than the more pop-tech articles on it as it delved into the kernel flags and explained why they are just now implementing.
That was exactly my thought - this should have been a thing 10 years ago. While I like that they are doing it, there is no applause from me because how late it came.
