    My knee jerk reaction to the headline is to feel a sense of loss. But after browsing the comments at HN, it seems the overwhelming majority agree the magazines quality has been degrading for years. More ads, shallower content, content that feels promotional, etc.

      I felt that 25 years ago...part of why I never bothered to continue with it when I moved out of my parent's house.
