I'm really excited for GitLab. It's only been a few hours and there's already this huge of a spike, now imagine over the next few weeks and months! Github is awesome, but I always found it ironic that it wasn't open-source, and after this acquisition, I'm not too hopeful for it.
Sorry if this is ignorant, but can they calculate private influx? Like transfer from GHE to privately hosted gitlab. I assume not, without insider info, but still curious. My works' internal...

Someone on HN suggested using a federation protocol to make something similar to mastodon for git. That could be interesting.
