For the past year I've stopped going to the feed. Not on computer, phone app, or phone browser. I would delete my account outright, but unfortunately I'll need to keep it around for Messenger. My whole country basically runs on Meta between Facebook and Whatsapp. It's real sorry state of affairs when Facebook was the primary way the internet was introduced to the masses in my country.

My personal experience is very far from the writers. I only get posts from friends or groups I follow. The ads I get at least look to be from reputable companies/organisations. I am not in the...

The ads I get at least look to be from reputable companies/organisations.
I am not in the USA, and I also block what ever groups fb thinks I should follow. So that might influence my experience.
That said, facebook does feel like a dying beast. And I for one won't miss it.
But all my friends are there so I have to be for now.

In the past, I used to use extensions like News Feed Eradicator to hide the news feed. I'd completely forgotten them until I read your comment!
