    What got me about this article, from this past April, was an old reprint of the author's prediction of the cell phone. In 1999. He pretty much nailed it. Now he's offering insights about robots in another 10 years.

    It's a play, not a novel! Oh, Mr Gerrold... as a science fiction writer, you should know your own heritage... To make eggs Benedict? Unlikely. In fact, I'm not sure how any robot assistant needs...

    The robot will require a level of data gathering, pattern recognition, information processing, and decision making that will surpass that of a human assistant.

    To make eggs Benedict? Unlikely. In fact, I'm not sure how any robot assistant needs to be smarter than a human assistant. That implies that there are tasks that human assistants would do, but can't, which a robot assistant can do. I can't think of any.
