Again, these titles always obscure the point. Everyone still uses Messenger and Instagram. I use messenger and my facebook consists of four friends and a profile picture.

The survey does not measure usage of Facebook’s Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger, all of which remain popular overseas, and does not measure Facebook’s continuing growth overseas.

You can actually delete the app on a stock system now? My last non-google phone it was part of the core system and therefore could not be uninstalled or deleted just like the verizon bloatware.

This is wonderful news. I hope that as this shift happens we can create and adopt more socially conscious and responsible platforms, or at least refuse to get so dependent on any given platform that we keep using it far past its prime, to the point where profiteering has made it unhealthy to use.

And we do need to move on from the rest of Facebook's platforms. I myself still use Messenger. I think Messenger is less deleterious to our mental health compared to Facebook proper, but it still saps our precious bodily fluids -- uh, I mean, our personal data.

For how much assurances they give us they're a pretty slimy company. They just don't learn.
