    I would just pull out the antenna. Or perhaps maybe collecting this sort of data without clear and explicit consent should be illegal? Crazy idea.

      I would not be surprised if the car would not turn on if it could not establish a connection after a certain amount of time. If that's not the case, it probably will be soon.

        Car DRM. Ewww. I imagine purely as a safety thing (eg take a holiday to a remote place and the car wont start anymore) that this wont be allowed. But if it is, I guess thats something to research...

        Or perhaps we can wait for the "Librecar" that runs only free software. If such a thing is ever made.
